How to Plan Travel Around a Wedding, Baby Shower, or Housewarming

Every event trip has one thing in common: a fixed event that everything else has to work around. WayMarg treats that event as a trip anchor, then builds the rest of your itinerary around it. This walkthrough uses a wedding in Jaipur as the worked example, but the exact same workflow applies to baby showers, housewarmings, anniversaries, family reunions, and similar occasions.

Add the event as a Primary Spot

Inside the city planner's Primary Spots section, choose Wedding from the category dropdown — it's a real, distinct category, not a generic catch-all. Then name the event, set the day, the start time, and how long it runs. In this example: "Arjun's Wedding," Day 1, 9:00 AM, 90 minutes.

Clear other spots on this day: choose None if the wedding is brief and leaves room for sightseeing that day, Full day if it's an all-day affair, or Before/After to block out just the lead-up or the aftermath.

Fill in the rest of the trip around it

Once the anchor is set, it shows up at the top of Pick Spots — tagged PRIMARY — above the normal sightseeing results for the city. Add whatever else you want around it the usual way.

See it anchored in the Day Plan

In the Day Plan, the event sits in its actual time slot, still tagged PRIMARY, with everything else slotted in around it — in this case, Hawa Mahal right after, later that same morning.

The Same Mechanic, Different Occasion

A baby shower, housewarming, birthday, anniversary, or family reunion all work exactly the same way — same Primary Spots panel, same Day/time/duration fields, same "Clear other spots" choice. Swap the category and the label, and the rest of the trip builds around it the same way a wedding does. The point isn't a feature built specifically for weddings; it's a flexible anchor that adapts to whatever the actual event is.
